PCFP consists of licensed psychologists well-versed in conducting risk assessments in a range of clinical and clinical-forensic matters. Our doctors are leaders in evaluating risk associated with violence, sexual, fire-setting, firearms/guns, and suicide, as well as those seeking removal from various conditions (e.g., Megan’s Law, Krol status).
We work with those across the age spectrum – from young children to older adults, and who present with a wide range of concerns.
For matters involving youth, we are regularly retained by schools (K-12), parents and families, community agencies, and attorneys when various types of risk-related issues arise (e.g., suitability to return to school, risk-informed treatment planning).
We also conduct evaluations for those who are college-age and post-graduate (e.g., graduate programs, medical schools, residency programs). In addition, we are sought by various involved parties when fitness-for-duty issues arise (e.g., students, educational and training programs, employees, employers, law enforcement and correctional candidates and departments).
In criminal contexts, PCFP doctors conduct risk assessments for pre-trial (diversion, plea bargaining community release) and sentencing mitigation purposes.
In civil contexts, our psychologists conduct evaluations in civil commitment-related matters, such as for Sexually Violent Predators (SVP) and other matters associated with civil ‘dangerousness’ standards.
